Roles and responsibilities of Relief Cook:

  • Assist the head chef and existing catering team in the production of high quality food which varies on a site by site basis
  • Take responsibility for your workload and complete all allocated tasks to the highest standards
  • Organise and manage stock
  • Uphold all health and safety measures within the workplace and keeping records as required
  • Ensuring the kitchen is cleaned down and left as prepped as possible for the next shift

Domiciliary Carer

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well established home care client for domiciliary care workers to work in the Sunderland and Washington areas. You will be working alongside an existing care worker to provide personal care for 36 hours per week on a six week contract. Immediate starts available for qualified candidates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Temporary School Caretaker

After great success supplying the education sector with catering and cleaning relief staff over the past 12 months we are now supplying temporary care takers to our clients too. Bookings can be anything from one week up to six months and cover both primary and secondary schools. Shifts are Monday-Friday, term time only with excellent hourly rates paid.

Duties:

 Ensure all minor maintenance tasks are completed within the buildings eg, door handles,
shelves, painting, tiling, carpeting, leaks, putting up blinds etc
 Up keep of external areas
 Opening up of buildings and closure of buildings daily
 Ensuring wash areas and toilet areas are regularly replenished and kept clean and tidy
 Ensure all communal areas clean tidy and replenished after each break time
 Movement of furniture, supplies, deliveries etc
 Ensure all furniture and fittings are in full compliance with our standards of safety and comfort.
 Maintain safe conditions and safe working practices within all the facilities.
 Adhere to company and statutory health and safety procedures and policies.
 Ensure all fire signage and equipment is legally compliant and monitored and recorded as per
legislation.
 Do weekly fire alarm test for each building
 Liaise with Principal/ Maintenance Manager re organised fire drills
 Clean inside of windows once a week and/or when necessary
 Clean external windows when required
 Upkeep of grounds and gardens on all sites
 Deal with all teachers, students and visitors with a polite, helpful manner

The right candidate will be an experienced caretaker with a strong maintenance background. You must be a reliable individual with a high level of professional integrity and the genuine will to make a positive difference to the school where you are sent. You will have an Enhanced DBS, ideally on the update service or be willing to undergo checks. This role would suit a retired caretaker or somebody looking to gain an insight to a few sites before accepting their next permanent role.

Adkins & Cheurfi are recruiting for a number of  TV Crew chefs to work on various TV and Film locations based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow

Our client is an outside catering company and they require staff, with their own transport, who live locally to either of the following locations-

  • Edinburgh
  • Glasgow

Working onsite in a mobile kitchen, you will be working in a team of 3-4 chefs and you will need knowledge in all sections of a kitchen as you will be rotated between three sections each week, Sauce, Hot Buffet and Larder. The kitchen offers breakfast, lunch and dinner service, with usual working hours of 0600-3pm

Cooking in a mobile kitchen can be very challenging & hard work and you must be prepared to assist with the management of the vehicle and lifting and loading, especially when moving locations, sometimes between services, unfortunately, hot water taps do not exist in fields!

All food is cooked fresh and you must be prepared to work with sometimes limited produce that is available, although this can also be very rewarding, working organically and creating menus as you go. A strong background in various cuisine is essential to help you deal with these challenges.

This role is very customer-facing and you will need to be prepared to serve customers personally, film production sites can be great fun but a high level of professionalism is expected from all crew working on site.
