Relief ChefsDuties may include:

Duties and responsibilities of a care home relief chef:

  • Produce breakfast, lunch and dinner for residents and staff from a rotation menu, taking into account soft food requirements, personal preferences and all dietary requirements.

  • Communicate with care staff to ensure resident satisfaction.

Live In Chefs

Live in Chefs required for four week assignment, Isle of Islay, Scotland

We require a number of live in chefs to cover holiday within an existing kitchen team at a busy hotel on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. You will be based at a luxury golf resort hotel, working in the restaurant which provides a contemporary, fresh seasonal menu in stunning surroundings. You will be working full time hours with on site accommodation and a travel allowance provided. This is an excellent opportunity during January, a time which is traditionally quiet in the hospitality trade. You must be experienced at minimum Chef de Partie level to be considered for this vacancy.

Duties:

  • Providing cover for a specific chef during his/her annual leave
  • Running a busy section of the kitchen to current hotel standards
  • Undertaking all prep, service and cleaning down of the kitchen as expected
  • Adhering to all health and safety rules – eg temperature checks, stock rotation, date labelling
  • Producing top quality food in line with company specifications

Skills and attributes:

Relief Head Chef

Relief Head Chef required for Christmas and January booking

Our client, a luxury residential village in Darlington require a relief head chef for an immediate start until the end of January.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee the food production across three areas; care home food, a la carte restaurant offerings and events.
  • Manage a staff of six, including two CDPs, a pastry chef and three kitchen porters.
  • Keep track of special events an plan the your schedules accordingly
  • Develop and train junior kitchen team members to further the ‘promote from within’ culture
  • Stay on top of all existing and new health and safety legislation and guidelines, keep records and run an immaculate kitchen
  • Liaise with other departments to utilise feedback to constantly improve

You will expected to work all key dates over the Festive Period including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year.

A relief head chef must:

If you have catering experience and would like to work ongoing and ad hoc assignments in schools, universities, care homes, cafes and nurseries then we have the placement for you!

Once you have joined our agency you will be inducted and receive free health and safety training. We will then assess where would be the best locations which match your skill set. You will be booked in to work and it is as simple as that. For example we may have a secondary school client with a member of the kitchen team on long term sick.
