Duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee the food production across three areas; care home food, a la carte restaurant offerings and events.
  • Manage a staff of six, including two CDPs, a pastry chef and three kitchen porters.
  • Plan menus to impress the discerning residents and visitors with an emphasis on bistro quality meals with exciting presentation
  • Keep track of special events an plan the your schedules accordingly
  • Develop and train junior kitchen team members to further the ‘promote from within’ culture
  • Stay on top of all existing and new health and safety legislation and guidelines, keep records and run an immaculate kitchen
  • Liaise with other departments to utilise feedback to constantly improve
  • Create a buzz around mealtimes and maintain a good relationship with residents and staff alike
  • Use your business acumen to bring home your ideas on a given budget

Skills and attributes:

  • You must have at least two years experience at Head Chef level
  • Care sector experience in not the most important requirement on your CV – you must have a demonstrable history of delivering sumptuous fresh food menus at high end venues, ideally hotels
  • You must be a real people person with a passion for your team and a genuine desire to exceed expectations
  • You must be a strong leader able to inspire others by the way you work
  • You must have strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workloads effectively on a short term and long term basis

A well known North East Hotel Group are looking to recruit a fully qualified Financial Controller on a permanent basis.

This is very much a classic right-hand person role suited to an aspiring FD or CFO of the future looking to join a forward-thinking Hotel group.

The role of the Financial Controller will be to oversee the financial and management reporting processes and forecasting, along with the ownership of the regulatory requirements. You will have the responsibility for managing and growing the finance function.

An integral part of this role will be finding someone who can instil best practice but also help lay the foundations for future growth within the business. As the ideal candidate, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or CAANZ) and will have an excellent understanding of accounting processes and ideally some knowledge of the regulatory reporting landscape.
