We’re looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our client’s 1-Rosette Boutique Hotel & Restaurant, set against the stunning backdrop of East Lothian’s seascape. You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day kitchen operations, inspiring a talented team, and crafting menus that reflect the best of local, seasonal produce. This is a hands-on role for a passionate chef who values quality, creativity, and consistency — and who takes pride in delivering outstanding guest experiences through every plate.

Boutique hotel and restaurant nestled in East Lothian, which emphasises comfort, authenticity, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The hotel’s restaurant and bar provide a relaxed setting where guests can enjoy seasonal menus crafted from locally sourced ingredients.
Key Responsibilties:

Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items to the highest standard

Lead, train, and develop a motivated and skilled kitchen team

Design and deliver seasonal menus that celebrate fresh, local ingredients

Ensure all health & safety, hygiene, and food safety standards are met

Manage kitchen stock levels and supplier relationships effectively

Maintain budget control and ensure profitability targets are met

Work collaboratively with FOH to deliver a seamless guest experience
What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a similar environment

1 Rosette standard experience or ambition to achieve that level

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Creative, passionate, and committed to delivering high-quality, honest food

A good understanding of stock control, GP, and kitchen financials

Flexibility to work across various shifts including weekends and holidays
