Our Client is seeking a skilled Head Chef to lead their kitchen team in their newly opened cafe & restaurant, just outside Newcastle. Having opened in July, they serve dishes from an exciting all-day dining menu. The ideal candidate would be an experienced Chef looking for a better work/life balance or a keen, up and coming Sous Chef ready to take over their first kitchen. As the Restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday, the team work 5 shifts from Wednesday to Sunday.

• Duties*
– Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
– Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and supervision
– Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness
– Collaborate with restaurant management to plan and execute special events or themed nights
• Skills*
– Strong leadership abilities to effectively supervise kitchen staff
– Extensive experience in restaurant kitchens, demonstrating culinary expertise
– Proficiency in food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation
– Excellent understanding of hospitality principles to deliver top-notch customer service
– Knowledge of food safety standards and practices to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment
– Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications would be advantageous
