Fantastic Opportunity for a Hospitality Couple – General Assistant & Maintenance Assistant (Live-In, Fixed-Term).

We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic couple to join our client’s small, friendly team for the 2025 season on the shores of Buttemere in the picturesque Lake District. We are looking for a General Assistant and Maintenance Assistant / Handyman pair to work until the end of October on a full-time basis.

General Assistant (Hospitality & Housekeeping)

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role ideally suited to someone with experience in hospitality and food service. You will be involved in a variety of day-to-day guest services and operational support, including:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the kitchen: basic food prep, restocking buffets, and plating up

• Waiting tables and delivering food/drinks to guests

• Housekeeping: cleaning guest rooms and common areas to a high standard

• Stocking and maintaining housekeeping supplies

• Ensuring cleanliness in dining and communal areas

• Bar/drinks service and guest interaction

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in hospitality or kitchen work

• Breakfast chef skills (a bonus)

• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management

Maintenance Assistant / Handyman

This position is suited to someone with solid hands-on experience in general property and site maintenance, with a proactive attitude toward repairs and upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

• Routine property checks and preventative maintenance

• Minor plumbing and electrical repairs

• Installing household appliances and fittings

• Groundskeeping, gardening, and waste management

• Occasional car maintenance and general handyman duties

• Emergency audits and safety checks
