School Caretaker required for ongoing contract in North East schools.

Due to our continued growth in the education and care sector a number of openings have arisen for experienced caretakers across the region. As you may know we currently supply a large pool of schools, colleges, care homes and nurseries with relief catering staff. After much success in the catering field we are now expanding our remit to include caretakers. There is a large demand for relief caretakers to work long term contracts in both primary and secondary sites across Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle and Northumberland. If you want to utilise your skill set, manage your own workload and get paid well for your troubles then this could be the one for you.

Duties and responsibilities of a caretaker are varied and may include:

supervising cleaning staff
carrying out daily maintenance and minor repairs
booking outside contractors for major works
ensuring smooth running of heating, lighting and alarm systems
ensuring the security of school buildings and property
setting out rooms for events
ensuring the safeguarding of the children is prioritised

You must be:

DBS checked or willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check immediately
a practical person with demonstrable DIY experience
a good problem solver
physically fit
have a good awareness of health and safety, security and hygiene issues surrounding a school environment
have the ability to manage your own workload
be a trustworthy and professional individual with a tolerant and respectful attitude to work
available to work ongoing
