We are recruiting for an experienced Hotel General Manager on behalf of a traditional Scottish inn located in the heart of Glencoe. This 16-bedroom inn operates in a highly seasonal and remote location, making it a popular stop for tourists, walkers, and those venturing into the Highlands and Isles.

About the Role:

We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Hotel General Manager who is comfortable with the unique challenges of running a remote, seasonal inn. This role requires someone who can operate independently, manage fluctuating business levels, and adapt to seasonal changes in staffing and operations.

This hands-on role has a strong focus on food & beverage, particularly with the inn’s seasonal outdoor dining space, a favorite venue for both locals and visitors. Your responsibilities will include managing daily operations, overseeing guest satisfaction, motivating the team, and ensuring smooth F&B service.

Key Responsibilities: 

✅ Overseeing the daily operations of the inn, ensuring a high standard of service
✅ Managing seasonal trade, scaling operations up in summer and down in winter
✅ Leading and motivating a small, adaptable team
✅ Handling guest relations, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere
✅ Managing bookings, budgets, and financial targets
✅ Overseeing outdoor dining operations, particularly in peak season
✅ Maintaining compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations

What We’re Looking For:

✔️ Previous experience managing a hotel, inn, or similar hospitality business
✔️ Understanding of working and living in a remote Highland location
✔️ Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for operations
✔️ A hands-on approach, willing to help in all areas when needed
✔️ Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
✔️ A strong understanding of Scottish hospitality
