About the Company:
Adkins and Cheurfi Recruitment are currently seeking relief chefs in the Northumberland area for school bookings. We have multiple schools in need of short-term and long-term cover.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook meals according to the provided menu and dietary requirements.
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet the established standards.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service.

Required Qualifications:
- NVQ cooking qualification or equivalent.

Salary: £13.25 – £16 per hour
Adkins and Cheurfi are currently looking for a chef who can work in a nursery. This role is suitable for someone with the right skills and mindset in a kitchen. The position requires Monday to Friday availability, working approximately 37.5 hours per week.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children in a nursery setting
- Create menus that meet dietary requirements and cater to children’s preferences
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a safe and hygienic manner
- Maintain inventory of food supplies and place orders as needed
- Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure mealtime routines are followed
- Adhere to portion control and food waste reduction guidelines
- Monitor and record temperatures of food storage areas
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Required Qualifications:
- Food and hygiene certificate
- Food safety certificate
- NVQ Level 3 in catering or equivalent

- Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a nursery or childcare setting

Working Conditions:

This is a great opportunity for a Chef to join a well-established team and inspire their creative flair. This role is Monday to Friday and wokring an occasional Saturday or sunday. We supply multiple local contract catering sites, hotel, restaurants, care homes, schools & more. We offer excellent rates of pay starting from £13.25 an hour PAYE plus holiday pay, you can also opt to join us as an LTD company or under an umbrella payment plan.
