The role
To assist in the preparation of food for guests and staff under the supervision of your Chef
de Partie/ Sous Chef.

Responsibilities

  • To maintain a high standard of specified work in accordance with the Head Chef’s
    instructions.
  • To assist with other sections or help with other duties
  • To maintain and achieve a high standard of food quality, preparation, production and
    to assist in service under guidance from the Chef de Parties, Sous Chef or the
    Executive Chef.
  • To aid in achieving food cost, kitchen standard and overall objectives and helping
    Commis Chefs learn to improve their ability.
  • To keep high standards of personal hygiene, clean uniform and overall camaraderie.
  • To keep high standards of cleanliness on section were employed, also to assist in any
    job regarding hygiene, cleanliness asked for by Sous Chefs/ Executive Chef.
  • To work as part of a team in a constructive manner
  • To have a committed approach to the development of creative service in the kitchen.
  • To comply with all Hotel and Company policies.
  • To be responsible, whilst liaising with the Executive Chef for your own development.
  • To carry out any reasonable duty to assist in the smooth running of the Kitchen

Reporting to the Operational Head Chef, our Client is looking for an experienced Head Pastry Chef, preferably with multi-site experience, to oversee the development and running of the venture. The venue has a number of different outlets most notably a fine dining restaurant, a steak and seafood restaurant, a tearoom, conference and banqueting, champagne bar and ice cream/waffle house.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and coaching a team of 3 pastry chefs
  • Management of multi-site facilities and quality standards
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
  • Ensure that produced pastry adheres to quality and specification standards
  • Team evaluation and development
  • Meet hygiene, quality and safety requirements
  • Preparation and calculation of pastry recipes and costs
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Head Pastry Chef, preferably with Multi-site experience

The Opportunity:

  • The Thai Cuisine Chef will manage and run a specialist Thai restaurant on-site of a beautiful golf course. this position is offering a free flat, for the chef to live in, which is situated only 80 yards from the beach and beautiful coastline.

Summary of Thai Chef Position:

  • We are looking to recruit a full-time Thai Cuisine Chef to run our busy Thai Restaurant
  • 40 hours a week, 5 days out of 7

Junior Sous Chef

Junior Sous Chef Wanted to work in a busy Newcastle hotel overseeing the bar/lounge kitchen.

As a Junior Sous Chef you must be able to work alone and be able to manage the high volume of checks that come in from the bar area.

On busy days you will have a junior chef working with you so you must be able to delegate and manage another member of staff effectively.

This large village pub offers a restaurant, bar and private dining options with all of the food served freshly cooked to order.

The owners believe in looking after the staff and want someone to come in and really feel part of the team.

Working hours are between 40-45 a week with paid overtime or time back in lieu.

Starting salary is negotiable depending on experience.
