Adkins and Cheurfi Recruitment are looking to recruit contact catering chefs of all levels to join out expanding team of chefs in the Newcastle and Sunderland area. We offer part-time and full-time hours which are predominately Monday-Friday, with the option to work weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Cooking food from scratch using fresh ingredients
  • Ensuring food hygiene procedures are followed and kitchen cleanliness is maintained at all times
  • Food labeling
  • Food prep
  • Stock ordering/Stock control
  • Working within cafés and restaurants within office buildings and factories
  • Working as a stand-alone chef or being part of a team
  • Ability to follow recipe specifications and guidance from different venues

Requirements/Skills:

  • 2+ years chef experience
  • Level 2 food hygiene
  • Own transport is desirable

Chef Manager required for a secondary academy in Bolton

We are now recruiting on behalf of a multi-academy trust located in Bolton for a chef manager at a secondary education site. Typical shifts will be Monday to Friday 7.00am-3.30pm. This position will suit a chef seeking to work on a smaller scale, with total autonomy in the kitchen. This is a genuinely great opportunity to work in a positive, stimulating and nurturing environment. Salary dependant on experience.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparing lunch for approx 550 pupils Monday to Friday
  • Managing the chef and kitchen assistants
  • Overseeing breakfast club which offers children toast and cereal
  • Ordering and stock management
  • Maintaining the highest standards of health and safety in the kitchen
  • Maintaining all health and safety records and training new staff on SOPs, COSSH and HACCAP
  • Communicating with the faculty to ensure the needs of all pupils are met
  • Serving food to the children and staff
  • Staying abreast of government guidelines on primary nutrition and updating menus and planning accordingly

You will be:

  • In possession of or willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
  • Experienced in a similar environment for minimum one year
  • An organised communicator with good people skills
  • An efficient chef with the ability to manage your own workload effectively
  • A reliable and trustworthy individual with a high level of professional integrity
  • A positive, enthusiastic person with a passion for producing high quality, nutritious food
